Complex Colorectal ESD — Live Cases & Expert Feedback
Six consecutive complex colorectal resections, performed and narrated live in the Ghent endoscopy unit by Dr David Tate, with Prof Monika Ferlitsch as visiting expert. Five endoscopic submucosal dissections and one full-thickness resection, shown in full — from optical diagnosis and the decision on technique, through access, traction and dissection, to closure and specimen assessment.
These are real, unedited cases: the reasoning out loud, the moments of doubt, the recovery when things get difficult. The first case is paired with a candid expert debrief between Dr Tate and Prof Ferlitsch.
What's inside
- Non-granular colonic LST — en-bloc ESD with traction, plus an expert feedback debrief
- Large distal rectal LST — ESD in retroflexion (two lesions)
- Depressed rectal lesion — blink-positive optical diagnosis and ESD
- Rectal LST behind a fold — en-bloc ESD
- Bulky colorectal LST — complex ESD
- Deep rectosigmoid lesion — full-thickness resection (FTRD)
You'll take away
- How to read a lesion and choose ESD versus full-thickness resection
- Setting up traction and working a difficult submucosal plane
- Coagulation and closure decisions in real time
- Honest, peer-to-peer feedback on technique
